The Futures Academy was established in January 2003 to promote through futures thinking a fresh, more effective approach towards long-term planning. The main aims of the Academy include.
- Promoting a more future-oriented mindset, futures approaches and methods in education and public and private sectors.
- Instigating and stimulating broad public debate about key issues for the future development of Ireland, its environment, society and economy.
- Assisting and facilitating organisations in exploring, building and analysing images of possible, probable and preferred futures.
- Providing executive training and trans-disciplinary education in the concepts, methods and techniques of Futures Studies.
- Developing a more imaginative approach for decision-makers and practitioners involved in forward planning that will ultimately lead to more effective successful solutions.
- Build a network of people from diverse backgrounds who are committed towards the future of business, society and government in Ireland.
