The increasing pace, extent and complexity of change means that decision-making and planning are done in environment of high uncertainty. At The Futures Academy, we believe that time and effort spent on strategic thinking prior to strategic planning ultimately pays enormous dividends in terms of discovering, exploring and evaluating possible, probable and preferable futures. Our Strategic Consulting services and research, designed around specific client needs, aim to facilitate the strategic thinking processes and provide insights for development of visions, strategies and plans and to inform decisions.

Amongst others, our services include:

• Environmental Scanning: the detection and analysis of existing and emerging trends that may have significant influence on the issue/organisation in question.
• Strategic Conversations: in-depth interviews with people within the organisation and external actors and experts to gain an understanding of the mental model and the culture of the organisation, the context within which it operates and their implications for the future.
• Path Finding: the identification of the future direction for organisation through the use of appropriate futures approaches.
• Futures Questionnaires: specifically designed future-oriented survey used for multiple tasks, from the identification of more general trends and drivers to insights into specific issue.

Methodology for each project is tailored to address specific client’s needs and requirements. Preliminary consultations are used to define what the approaches we use can and cannot achieve and to explore how they fit together with client’s expectations.
